VIDEO OF THE WEEK: Toto – ‘Africa’

January 8, 2018

From our 35 year vantage point, it’s a little strange to think that it took ‘Africa’ around four months to climb to the top of the US singles charts.

And yet, when the momentum surrounding ‘Africa’ took hold, there was little stopping it.

Taken from the album ‘Toto IV’, ‘Africa’ was a global smash hit that stormed Top 10s in countries as far and wide as the United States, the UK, and Australia.

The video was directed by Steve Barron, who would go on to helm the incredible promo for Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’. Timeless.
